Children's Resources is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.  We were established in 1991 to help young people who need extra guidance and the help of caring adults.

Our mission is to generate philanthropic support for the Tidewater    Regional Group Home Commission—a public agency that provides community-based services for youth involved with juvenile court or at risk of involvement with the juvenile court.

Our vision is that young people will leave Commission         programs armed with the tools, skills, and attitudes they need to become successful and productive members of the community. 

We believe that every young person has value and the potential for a bright future.  Yet, some make mistakes.  Ignore?  Punish?  Or help?  We choose to help — and we invite you to join us!

Our annual fundraiser, the Santa Claus Shuffle 5K Race and 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk was held December 13 in Olde Towne Portsmouth.  Over 700 people registered for our annual event and by all accounts, our participants loved our new location.  Our thanks to our sponsors and to everyone who joined us on a cold December morning to help us raise funds in support of our mission to help young people who need extra guidance an the help of caring adults.
