A 1998 study by Vanderbilt University estimated that each high-risk juvenile prevented from adopting a life of crime could save the country between $1.7 and $2.3 million.
Let's Lift them Up!

Jerrauld Jones, the former director of the Virginia Department of Juvenile Justice stated that “It is the policy of the department under my direction, that we are not just concerned with locking up youth when necessary, but also concerned with lifting them up to progressive and successful lives in their communities.”

As the charitable partner to the Tidewater Regional Group Home Commission, Children’s Resources is working hard to “lift up” the young people who are served by the Commission.

Our mission is to raise funds and find community resources to promote and enrich the programs of the Tidewater Regional Group Home Commission.

Our vision is that at-risk youth will leave Commission programs armed with new skills, new attitudes, and the resiliency needed to withstand adversity so that they and their children after them will be law-abiding and productive members of society.

Children’s Resources works to lift up youth to progressive and successful lives by focusing on the following areas: Education, Vocational Exploration and Assistance, Arts and Cultural Enrichment, Social and Life Skills, Recreation and Pro-Social Activities, Dignity and Self-Esteem, Family Support, Program and Staff Development, and Volunteerism.

We’re working hard to make a difference in the lives of at-risk youth. You can help.

Together-let’s lift them up.
